Whenever I type www.advancedphysics.org into IE and I see the homepage, I notice that between the times I sign on, about 10 people join the forums...what happens to these people? What\'s the point of getting a user name and everything if your never gonna use it?:wall:

This is normal. It\'s been my experince on other boards that you have 5x more people reading and not posting, than the ones posting.

Some like to play sports, some like to watch. Posting on high level forums seems related.

Probably the people who don\'t talk very much are just terrified of those of us who talk too much. :type:

go to the specific forum where u want to post the new thread, from the forum list located at the end of this page under the label of FORUM JUMP or go to the FORUM INDEX (http://www.advancedphysics.org/forum/index.php?) and select a forum from there. There u will find the "NEW THREAD" button.

how do i post a new thread?

First, please read the FAQ (http://www.advancedphysics.org/forum/faq.php?) and decide whether your thread is appropriate for this site. If you have a particular question it may also pay to first check google (http://www.google.com), Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page), the sci.physics FAQ (http://www.math.ucr.edu/home/baez/physics/) and this site's search feature (http://www.advancedphysics.org/forum/search.php?) to see if your question is a common one or has already been answered. If not, then follow Saim's procedure.

Welcome!

Hmm... I don't post a lot, because I have the tendency to read more. Seeing that I am no Physics major, yet interested in Physics, it may seem appropriate that I read the discussions here first so that I would at least have an idea of the goings-on. "Lurkers," we are. ;)
