I work with complex equipment on a daily basis. One of the ways I teach the use of such equipment is to use software emulators.
I\'ve been thinking this would be great tool in physics. I would love to be able to use a first person shooter interface to drive atoms around. Shoot photons at other atoms, magnetic fields, swap electrons with other atoms, the works.
What do y\'all think?

great...who\'s going to program it?

It would have a niche market with high schools and colleges. Most first person shooters have a good phyics engine build into them anyway.
I\'m guessing a college student could code it.
Multiplayer. Like a flight sim, but with atoms. Catch this, you and another player crash your atoms together, and they break into the correct quarks, etc.

Try patching Atom in a Box (http://www.daugerresearch.com/orbitals/) (Apple article (http://web.archive.org/web/20011007062311/http://www.apple.com/education/hed/aua0101/atominabox/)), or the Solar System Simulator there.
Fernanda, since I complained about your merchandise, maybe these will offer some inspiration. Orbitals, after all, last longer than flowers and diamonds and are prettier when magnified than those or a fotograf could be; they must be a geek\'s best friend?
