It\'s pretty hard to get XP to crash on its own. You probably have some program that\'s taking the system down. First thing to try is Ad Aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/) to get all the detritus off your computer. Next thing to try is a virus scanner, but those cost money. Third thing to try is a good hard look at any software you have that may be suspect. On my system, the Java Engine and Adobe Acrobat are extremely unstable, and they\'re both from reputable companies.

Run the free virus scan from housecall.trendmicro.com

Make sure your XP updates are updated.

windowsupdate.microsoft.com

And somekind of spyware remover.

I prefer spybot. It\'s free, just google for \'spyboot download\'. Make sure you update it when you install it.

If you are brave, you can run the free \'hijack this\' It show\'s all programs started when you start IE browser.
