Hey i was wondering. What can a physicist do in the U.S air force. I am the best at mathematics at my school. (next year for my Freshmen year i get to take Calculus). I take basic and intermediate physics after school and i love physics. Im hoping someday to get my degree in physics and go to MIT (my parents always told me to dream big). (the world needs dreamers.) Well i also wanted to join the air force to live up to my grandfather. who used to be a staff sargeant in the Air Force and almost got sent out to Nam except my grandma threatened to divorce him if he did. (he wanted to be a helicopter pilot there and in Nam back then the average life span for a heli pilot was 2 weeks). So after giving you my lifes story i wanted to know how i could use physics in the air force. I wanted to join air force intelligence but not exactly. Anyone know the answer to my problem.:type:
:eureka:

I would guess physics would need to be applied to things such as aerodynamics, and to make predictions on the size of runways and landing strips and such. You could also use the calc you\'re taking next year for things such as cost minimization or finding maximum fuel efficiency and such. Or, you may be able to be a teacher. One of my teachers used to teach at the naval academy when he was in the navy.

thanks for the info. I looked into the Air Force intelligence dpeartment and its right up my ally. Im in the ROTC program and i wanted to use my knowledge to help my country. (i know im awesome):spin::spin::spin::spin:
lol

anyone else know any other thing \\s i might be able to do.
(preferably anything on Alien spacecraft!!! Just kidding.)

I applied for an internship at Area 51, but they wouldn\'t take me. I scored a 7/10 on the megalomania part of the psych profile, and they thought I was at risk to attempt global conquest with alien technology. :(

face it, if you are a scientist you know you are smart and have a pretty big ego. (some more than others! like me:fresh:). I think that anyone with a scientific backround could not keep alien technology under wraps(unless bribed with stuff like a personal cyclotron or some super top secret conspiracy stuff) Anyone here off that one guy who supposedly worked on that alien spacecraft in Area 51. What was his name again??? oh ya Bob Lazar i think. Also one last thing. Were do i sign up!!! I want my internship.
